Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, Tired Lion channel the essence of the '90s through guitar-driven, gutsy blasts of indie rock.
2013 saw the release of Tired Lion’s debut EP, All We Didn't Know, followed by 2015’s Figurine EP, which featured the breakout single ‘I Don't Think You Like Me’. The band spent the next few years touring relentlessly in Australia and abroad; playing headline tours and festivals (Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Glastonbury and Primavera Sound) and evolving from scrappy, grungy upstarts into one of Australia’s most formidable live acts.
In 2017, Tired Lion released their long-awaited and critically-acclaimed debut album, Dumb Days, produced by Violent Soho’s Luke Boerdam. In 2018, the band re-emerged with the addictively catchy single ‘With Or Without’, their first new music since Dumb Days and the departure of founding member and guitarist, Matt Tanner.
Lead by vocalist/guitarist Sophie Hopes, Tired Lion stand as torchbearers for emotionally-driven songwriting thanks to Hopes’ no-holds-barred, heart-on-her-sleeve, trademark lyricism. Tired Lion’s current live line up consists of Hopes, bassist Nick Vasey, drummer Ethan Darnell and guitarist Joel Martin.
